He has the skills and confidence of an attacker and could have gone for the traditional jersey number 9 favored by central attackers, but opted for the historically and emotionally unmemorable number 17. But as the saying goes, what is in a name, or for that matter, the jersey number 17, provided you can score the required goals? Nothing, or in this case, plenty.
As the top striker for the very reputable Dreamland Academy, he had a lot to carry on his shoulders in Dream Academy’s match against in the opening match of the 2025 Abia State Fifty1 Alliance Supalig 5-A-Side Championship against Young Warriors Football Club and he did. He was beyond a fox in the box as he darted around the penalty area and gave the Warriors defenders plenty to think about. It was not long before he got the just reward for his afternoon’s hustle. Following a cutback from the byline by the equally impressive Cherubim Maduka, Victor coolly side-footed into the Warriors’ net for his first and also the first goal of the tournament. It was not just the goal, but also his energetic display in the final third of the pitch that caught the attention. On the strength of this performance in this opening match, this is not the last time we will be writing about him.
