Izima FC claimed the first victory of the first victory of the 2025 Abia State Fifty1 Alliance
Football Supalig season by defeating Ohanze All Stars one goal to nothing in their league opener at the Fifty1 Alliance Sports Complex.
In a match kicked off by the Abia State Commissioner for Sports, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, this local derby between two teams from the same community in Obingwa Local Government had very few chances. In a swift counterattack, Izima FC broke the deadlock in the eleventh minute of the game’s first half through Friday Ihuonu after Izima goalkeeper Uwaoma Goodluck launched a quick throw-out to him. He controlled the ball neatly and deftly lobbed it over the on-rushing Abel Echefula in goal for Ohanze All Stars to the delight of the spectators.
Though Ohanze All Stars fought hard for an equalizer, the Izima defense repelled every attack and enabled the team to run away with the one-goal advantage at the end of the game.
